Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing the Shared Browser extension or accessing b.krl.kr, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. What Shared Browser Is
Shared Browser is a browser extension and WebSocket server that lets multiple people share and synchronise their browsing activity in real time. Sessions are ephemeral — room data is held in memory and deleted when everyone leaves.
Shared Browser does not record, store, or log your browsing history on our servers beyond what is necessary to operate the live session (see §5).
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Shared Browser to:
- Share, distribute, or view illegal content (including content that violates copyright, or CSAM)
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Conduct phishing, fraud, or any deceptive activity
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' sessions or our servers
- Automate session creation or otherwise abuse the service in a way that impairs others
- Circumvent any rate limits or security measures
We reserve the right to terminate access for anyone who violates these rules without notice.
4. Sessions and Room Codes
Room codes are randomly generated and not publicly listed. Anyone with a room code can join the session. Do not share room codes with people you do not trust.
Sessions are automatically destroyed when the last participant disconnects. We do not guarantee any minimum session duration or availability.
5. Data Handled During a Session
To operate a live session the server temporarily processes the following in memory:
- The display name you enter when creating or joining a room
- URLs you navigate to (so they can be broadcast to other participants)
- Scroll positions, cursor positions, and chat messages within the room
- Annotations you add during a session
This data exists only for the duration of the active session and is deleted from memory when the room closes. It is never written to disk or transmitted to third parties.
6. No Warranty
Shared Browser is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uptime, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use the service at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — Shared Browser.
8. Open Source
The Shared Browser extension and server are open source under the MIT License. You can inspect, fork, and self-host the code at github.com/3289david/shared-browser.
